“Expansion is the normal state of the economy;”
The NBER’s Recession Dating Procedure
I’ve been reading a number of financial blogs and this came up today in a couple of them.
How can “expansion” be the normal state of anything? Well except for some theories of the universe.
If financial thinking and planning is based on this premise, I fear that folks haven’t been thinking long term enough.
